Looking back on my life it’s plain to see myself and even a lot of my family have always been “dog people”. The first dog memory that comes to mind is my aunt and uncle have always had beautiful and majestic Siberian Huskies. As a kid I can remember climbing into my uncle’s big truck with my younger cousin and the dogs in the winter. My uncle would drive a little out of town onto a back road and the dogs would jump out and would chase the truck. The dogs loved it, maybe the more accurate word would be craved it. My cousin and I loved watching them bound through the fluffy powder in a way that would have made the famous Siberian sled dogs Togo and Balto proud.
In our household growing up it was Rottweilers and a giant American Bulldog. Which may sound intimidating to people who have not been around big pups but whether they were 90 lbs or 140 lbs they were an integrated and loving part of the family because of the love, and training we gave them. My mother’s best friend worked with troubled dogs from a rescue and helped show us the ropes when it came to training. At a young age I saw how consistent positive reinforcement training enhanced both the dog parent experience and the relationship/bond between a dog and its owner. The only thing to fear from a well trained large dog is the poo size!
Initially breeding Frenchies wasn’t my goal, I had just wanted a pet. The search to find a reputable breeder that could prove their bloodlines were healthy, that had CKC/AKC registration and that stood behind their dogs no matter what went on (and off and on lol) for close to 8 months. Speaking with Canadian breeders and US based breeders I found that many not only didn’t want to provide what I asked for they didn’t like any questions above the usual “basic” questions. Many didn’t inquire much about myself either, which should definitely be a red flag.
Then I found Monica at Wild Rose and it was like the clouds parted, angelic music and golden sunshine washed the bad vibes away (a bit cliched but I’m telling you it felt like that). I found someone that inspired me with her ethics, that cared and had passion for the breed.

After a few months of conversing we found out our personalities complimented each other and Monica graciously offered to mentor me in the “Way Of The Frenchie” Fast forward a few years later and now we are partnered on some of the most exclusive Rare Colour French Bulldog Breedings in Canada.
I love Frenchies, I can’t adequately convey how unique they are. All of them have hilarious expressions, pig like snorts and other sounds, that if you possess a sense of humor, will bring joy and laughter into your life daily. Even though they are pint sized, Frenchies have a courageous soul and can be fearless, unless they are getting in trouble lol. If you are even thinking about getting one, have the time and lifestyle to be a great companion to a Frenchie, be like Nike and just do it. But also do both yourself and your potential furfriend a favor and find the right people to work with.

When I say we are all about doing what’s right for the breed, we mean it. We are very selective of who we bring into our “Frenchie Inner Circle” as we want our pups to go to loving homes for the rest of their lives. If you are a private person and do not want to share information about your life, do not want to sign a puppy contract and aren’t excited to send us an update with some photos of the pup you took home from time to time, that’s your right and we can respect that but you will have to respect our pups aren’t for you. There are zero exceptions to this policy.
“To my clients that do appreciate our passion: I offer a guarantee that for the lifetime of your pup we will be there for you with all levels of advice, and there will be some exciting benefits to being part of our family”

I grew up surrounded by dogs and had a passion for animals all of my life. I have always enjoyed the love, entertainment, and companionship that they provide. Whether it be a lab, dachshund/beagle cross, springer spaniel, airedale terrier, boxer, husky, Mini Australian shepherd, Frenchton or a rescue dog, I LOVED them ALL.
Becoming a Frenchie breeder started by accident, but after being introduced to the French Bulldog I knew that this would be the last breed of dog I would ever own. Three years ago, my husband wanted a Blue French Bulldog for his birthday. We ended up purchasing Skye, who had such a sweet temperament and disposition that we decided to breed her. From there I got Frenchie Fever and my love and passion for the breed began to consume me. My daughter & I picked out our lilac merle girl, Leila, next and then my husband picked an amazing stud, and from there…Wild Rose Rare Frenchies became a small hobby breeder based on our family’s acreage in Calgary, Alberta.
Our French Bulldogs live in our home as a part of our family, where they are loved and cared for every day. We strive to pair our clients with their perfect puppy/soul mate. By caring for our own babies, we know the connection and joy that Frenchies give to their new families. FRENCH BULLDOGS live to please and love their owners by just being their goofy, energetic, funny selves. The focus of our breeding program is to produce the healthiest, best structured Frenchies in the world with the most amazing temperaments. Our moms will never be over-bred and our home will never be over-crowded.
